Bicycling around the island
Singapore
4 parks worth exploring offering bicycle rental
1. Coney Island opened to the public on 10th October 2015. Bicycling around the island is great fun with nice views towards Malaysia and Pulau Ubin. You can rent your bike at either GoCycling or Jomando. A trip around the island should take you less than an hour, with breaks of course more. You can cycle almost 4 kilometers from Punggol Settlement to the Serangoon Reservoir dam on concrete pavement and a forest road. If you then turn towards the beach you can cycle on forest tracks nearer to the seafront and along the beach. Food options are plenty near Punggol Settlement from famous White Bee Hoon to Thai or western options.

For more cycling extend your trip towards Lorong Halus Wetlands and take Sunrise bridge back to Punggol Promenade Nature Walk. A roundtrip from Punggol Settlement and back measures around 8km and should take you less than 2 hours to complete, with breaks and selfie-taking of course more. Great descriptions about the route at TheSmartLocal.

You can rent your bike at GoCycling which is the only bicycle rental shop in the park. Thus you would need to opt for a round trip through the park and return your bike at the same place. The only food option is McDonalds, however some cool spots to check out are the Grand Lawn for kite flying, the Adventure Playground for flying foxes and the view from the Jetty Look Out Deck.

4. Pulau Ubin is a great spot for cycling and to explore the rural side of Singapore. Take a ferry from Changi Village to the island Pulau Ubin (part of Singapore, no need for your passport or ID) and rent your bicycle at one of the multiple shops at the entrance to the island. Great spots to check out are the beautiful lakes serving as water catchment reserves (no swimming unfortunately), walk up the Jejawi view tower for a birds eye view over the island or spot wild pigs on the way to Check Java Wetlands. You can park your cycle at the entrance to Check Java Wetlands (opening hours: 8:30am – 6pm) and walk along the boardwalk, apparently if you match your walk with a low tide, you can see sea horses and sea stars. Head to the Ketam Mountain Bike Park if you are looking for more cycling adventure. End your daytrip with a yummy seafood meal at one of the restaurants near the ferry terminal on Pulau Ubin.
Bicycle Rental Shop: Various at the entry to Pulau Ubin. Rates are at $2.50 – $9 for bicycle rental and around $2 for the return ferry.
